United Way of Muscatine Receives State Contract for Summer Food Service Program
The United Way of Muscatine is participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided to all children without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service. Meals will be provided:

“One of United Way’s goals is to help children be successful. We know that many children rely on the schools for their nutritional needs during the school year. It is imperative that those children have access to nutritious food during the summer months when school is not in session. Thanks to the support of the Muscatine Ministerial Association I know that we will be successful in this new venture.”, Shane J. Orr, Chief Professional Officer.
The United Way of Muscatine is asking the community to help support this program by volunteering. “We need volunteers to pick up meals at UnityPoint Health Trinity Muscatine Food Service Department at 11:15am, deliver the food to their assigned location, serve the meals, and then return the food containers to UnityPoint. People can sign up to volunteer one time, or even better take a specific location for a certain day of the week. For example, you and a friend could go to First Christian Church every Monday. We need a lot of community support to make this program run smoothly.”, Nichole Sorgenfrey Program Manager.
