For children who depend on receiving two school-provided meals a  day, summer vacation can be detrimental to their health and extra stressful for parents. We are finishing up the first week of the Summer Lunch Program, aimed to provide meals to those children who need it most. Our volunteers have been serving an average of 400 meals a day at 6 meal sites. The Summer Meals Finder website allows you to easily find the site nearest you.IMAG0805

Please share this information with anyone that you think would benefit from this program. You can also print off a flyer of locations here. You can find the menu for the program on our website.

We would like to extend our appreciation to our volunteers and the Ministerial Association for all their support and dedication. We couldn’t offer this program this summer without you!

IMAG0803We still need many volunteers through out the summer for this program. You can volunteer as little as one day. Volunteers will pick up meals at UnityPoint Trinity Muscatine Hospital at 11 am and serve meals from 11:30 am – 12:30 pm. Food containers then need to be returned to the hospital. If interested in this volunteer opportunity please contact Nichole at 563-263-5963.
